Pictures from Canada

It’s been a while since my summer back home in Canada, and looking through my phone, I’ve noticed that there’s a ton of photos that I haven’t posted yet! There was so much going on, especially with my parents’ home renovations, and Yann coming to Canada for the first time.

From delicious dim sum to scenic Niagara Falls and everything in between, here are some of my favourites! (Warning, there’s going to be quite a few photos of food!)

Have you guys ever had dim sum? It’s my favourite type of food since there’s so much variety. I love those little steamed containers. My favourite are the siu mai, which are pork dumplings. Perfection!

Another favourite of mine is pho, especially on rainy days (which there were quite a lot of this summer!). While there’s lots of Vietnamese restaurants in Germany, pho isn’t very popular. Unfortunately either are Vietnamese sandwiches!

They say that everything is bigger in North America. This teddy bear agrees.

Me and Yann surprised my parents by making them a traditional German dinner consisting of Schnitzel and potatoes (to go down with some German beer of course). I think my first attempt at making it turned out pretty well!

Here’s a photo from Chinatown in Toronto. I’d love a bowl of pho in that size please!

Me and Yann before the Blue Jays game! The reason why we’re so happy is because this photo was taken before the actual game started…I had no idea watching baseball can be so boring (and this is coming from a girl who loves soccer which Americans have always claimed to be slow-paced).

All you can eat sushi is an amazing invention! Except when you eat too much of it and find yourself hiding leftover sushi pieces in the restaurant washroom. Not that that’s ever happened to me, of course.

I love this sculpture I came across on a bench in Montreal!

Poutine from La Banquise in Montreal. It may look a bit disgusting but it’s heaven on a plate. Or a heart attack on a plate depending on how you look at it. There’s usually a line up after dinner time at this restaurant but it’s totally worth it!

This was one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to!

I love this shot I took at Niagara Falls with all the leaves. It reminds me of a Group of Seven painting!

Speaking of the Group of Seven, something I worked on during the summer was this Group of Seven painting for my parents to put in the living room.

And lastly, here’s a few more photos from Niagara Falls. I’ve been here a few times but the falls never cease to impress me!
